Yes, I think the True Believer description is appropriate for many of these people. It surely is almost impossible to say things that will make them change their minds. And then there's a different cohot of Hindu supremacists who stay away from this science-related mythology as it's too low-brow for their tastes, but they believe in other equally ridiculous myths, like "Hindus have historically been the most peaceful people on earth."
